What is Bright Moments?

Bright Moments is an arts organization owned and operated by holders of CryptoCitizen NFTs. The company was founded by NFT enthusiasts in Venice Beach. It was obvious to the team in the middle of Covid, that people needed to be educated about NFTs in real life. They held peoples hands and properly set them up with wallets and informed them of the digital renaissance that we are all taking part in. The Bright Moments team gets a well-deserved round of applause from me.

Essentialy, they are educating and empowering people all over the world to mint NFTs through a unique experience in real life. This is quite interesting due to the fact that most crypto-communities are formed online and only provide opportunties online. With a major focus on generative art, Bright Moments has led the movement in which we can enable blockchain minting events in real life.

How to get started with Bright Moments?

Ending in 2023, Bright Moments will have distributed 10,000 CryptoCitizens.

What is a CryptoCitizen?

  • A CryptoCitizen is a generative art collection minted by Bright Moments.
  • Holders of CryptoCitizens get exclusive access to the DAO. Each CryptoCitizen provides governance rights and the ability to vote on key decisions for the Bright Moments team.
  • CryptoCitizens can be minted by purchasing a Golden Token in 1 of the 10 cities that Bright Moments sets up a gallery.
  • There will be a total of 10,000 CryptoCitizens, 1,000 in each city.
    • 1,000 CryptoCitizens in each city distributed like this:
      • 334/1000 will be reserved for the local community when the mint begins.
      • 333/1000 will be distributed to existing CryptoCitizens probabilistically.
      • 333/1000 will be sold to fund the project roadmap.
  • The upcoming mint is in London.
  • By holding a CryptoCitizen, it provides future opportunities like minting limited-edition NFTs by the most emerging generative artists.

Key Takeaways for Bright Moments:

  • If you plan on participating in Bright Moments minting, please plan accordingly. Do your research weeks ahead of mint and ask many questions. The team is very kind and will answer any questions you may have. There are a lot of caveats and a decent need to be technically sound as most of these NFTs are extremely limited.
  • The tokenomics are one of the most interesting I have seen in this space. I really love the fact that CryptoCitizens are handed out for free to people in each of the 10 cities. What better way to onboard people than to give them a free NFT. I am most interested to see how holders get rewarded down the line.
  • Bright Moments uses Art Blocks smart contracts to enable the best minting experience, provable randomness and preservation of the NFT. The main contract (stored on-chain) holds the data needed to render any unique NFT minted from the contract. As long as Ethereum is a network, these NFTs will have the ability to be rendered through your browser. Discussion of on-chain will become increasingly more important as time goes on.
  • Bright Moments has worked with some of my favorite artists which include: Tyler Hobbs, Emily Xie, Matt DesLauriers, and Thomas Lin Pedersen. It joys me so much to watch these artists get representation by Bright Moments in a beautiful collaboration.

It's a win-win-win for the Bright Moments team, the artists, and the collectors.

Here are some generative artworks from past Bright Moments events.
